Date:2012-10-23 / Time: 12:29:42 PM -

Goddess Durga is believed to have nine different manifestations or forms, and each one is worshipped on separate days of a 9-day Navratri festival. Among her forms, Siddhidatri is assumed to be the last and ninth form and hence, worshipped on the last day of the festival. It’s believed that her devotion and veneration offers all kinds of occult powers to the worshippers.

The Hindu mythology says that the number of her powers is exactly eighteen (18) and she blesses the devotees with all such siddhis or powers. As per the legends, Lord Siva too achieved these siddhis out of venerating Maa Siddhidatri to be later called as   Ardhanariswara. She is four-armed, rides on a lion and found having seated on a lotus flower.

This form of Goddess Durga is always seen holding a Chakra in the right lower hand, a mace in the upper hand, a conch in the left lower hand and a lotus flower in the upper left hand. Devotees believe that her veneration removes all prevailing miseries of life to let them lead towards prosperity and utter satisfaction in life.

Being the ninth form, she is worshipped on the last day when all other manifestations are venerated. Having already wished everything from different forms of Maa Durga, the devotees ask everything of Maa Siddhidatri, except material gains. In this way, we can understand the kind of spiritual significance this last form of Durga has over her admirers and devotees

Devi Siddhidatri’s aradhana mantra are:
